Alleged Child Molestor Apprehended at Laredo Port of Entry
LAREDO, Texas — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry arrested a 19-year-old U.S. citizen, Rafael Chica Garcia, on April 12th. Garcia was wanted on a felony warrant for alleged molestation of a minor issued by the St. Charles County Adult Detention Facility in Missouri.
The arrest occurred during a routine inspection of a commercial bus arriving from Mexico at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge. Biometric verification confirmed Garcia's outstanding warrant.
Port Director Comments
“This arrest underscores our commitment to protecting children and holding perpetrators accountable,” said Port Director Alberto Flores. “The collaboration between our officers and law enforcement partners was instrumental in this significant apprehension.”
National Crime Information Center
The arrest was facilitated by the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database, a vital tool for sharing information among law enforcement agencies. CBP officers regularly utilize NCIC data to apprehend individuals wanted for various crimes, including homicide, escape, and other serious offenses.
It is important to note that criminal charges are merely allegations, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
