Brunei lies in the northwest of Borneo on the coast. The landscape is characterized by jungle, through which rivers run. In most cases these rivers flow to the north. In the west and northeast of the country the visitor finds many swamps. Brunei is one of the richest countries in the world due to its oil reserves.
