Australia - VWP Member since 1996

Australia lies on the southern hemisphere. Southeast is New Zealand, north are Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and East Timor. Australia is very sparsely populated. The big cities (Sidney, Melbourne) are located along the coast. In the interior of the country there is a very hot climate, so that there are only a few cities here (for example Alice Springs). Despite its sparse population, Australia is one of the richest countries in the world. As a former member of the British Empire, Australia has left-hand traffic.
