Visa Appointment Availability: The U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen is currently offering as many visa appointments as resources allow and is committed to working through the visa appointment backlog in place as a result of COVID-19. Schedule an appointment for a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen via our appointment scheduling website. If you have a life-or-death emergency and require a visa to travel to the United States, please request an expedited appointment via our scheduling website.
Many visas can be renewed or applied for without an interview. Students (F and M visas), Student Exchange Visitors (Academic J visas), individual petition-based H-1B, H-3, L, O, P, and Q visas, and visa applicants renewing the same visa class within 48 months of expiration may qualify for interview waiver. Visit our appointment website to see if you qualify to apply for your visa by mail.
Please consult the Important Information on Current Travel to the U.S. page for additional information about current travel requirements and visa appointment information.
Visa Application Fee: The U.S. Embassy will extend the validity of your payment (known as the MRV fee) until September 30, 2023, to allow all applicants who were unable to schedule a visa appointment as a result of the suspension of routine consular operations an opportunity to schedule and/or attend a visa appointment with the already paid fee.
